Roommate postings on RoommateAds are made at the poster's own risk. RoommateAds is a free, open forum where anyone, anywhere can read your information. Proper care is suggested before meeting anyone or sending money to anyone. If you value your primary email address, you should consider obtaining a new one for the purpose of advertising your living situation.

RoommateAds has no responsibility for the content of postings or for the conduct of users. We strongly recommend reviewing our Safety Tips before meeting anyone in person.

All advertisers assume the responsibility for the artwork, text, and content of advertisements they supply. RoommateAds cannot be held liable for any artwork or content supplied by an advertiser, agency, or user. RoommateAds is an interactive computer service that enables access by multiple users and should not be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider (47 U.S.C. § 230).

No Vetting & No Liability for Verified Users' Conduct

RoommateAds does not perform background checks, credit checks, or criminal-history checks on any user, including users who hold the optional “Verified” badge.

The “Verified” badge means only this: at the moment of verification, the user submitted a photograph of a government-issued ID and a live selfie, and our automated system determined that the two images were consistent. That is the full extent of what verification confirms.

Verification does not mean, and should not be read to mean, any of the following:

That the user is honest, safe, reliable, or of good character
That the user's stated intentions are truthful
That the user has no criminal history, eviction record, or civil judgments
That the user will comply with any lease, roommate agreement, or applicable law
That the user's identity has been verified by any government authority or law enforcement agency
That the user's conduct — before, during, or after verification — has been reviewed, monitored, or approved by RoommateAds

RoommateAds bears absolutely no responsibility, and accepts no liability of any kind, for any act, omission, statement, representation, or conduct of any user, whether or not that user holds a Verified badge. The presence of a Verified badge on a profile does not create any duty of care, warranty, endorsement, or guarantee by RoommateAds with respect to that user's behavior or fitness as a roommate.

Users are solely responsible for their own due diligence before entering into any rental arrangement, lease, roommate agreement, financial transaction, or in-person meeting with any other user. RoommateAds strongly recommends independent background checks, reference checks, and in-person meetings in public places before committing to any arrangement.

The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. RoommateAds makes no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing, user profile, message, or other content on the Site.
